You can update gSender to the latest version by following these instructions step by step.
1. Export Settings
You will need to export two types of settings, gSender settings and firmware settings:
gSender Settings
gSender settings are usually saved on your computer (not the controller) and include: program events, probe settings, macros, keyboard shortcuts, and other preferences.
- Go to the Config Tab, then under gSender Preferences, click the Export button in the top right corner of the screen.
- Save the file somewhere onto your computer that you can find afterwards.
Firmware Settings
Sometimes when updating to a new gSender version, we may accidentally change the firmware settings. Therefore it is best practice to save these settings before an update.

3. Install gSender
To download the latest version see this page.
To download older versions go to this page and scroll down to the version you want, for example v1.4.12.
You will find “Assets,” click the text to open the list of downloads. If you have Windows select one that ends with “.exe”, if you have Mac select the one that ends in “.dmg.” Download and install.

4. Import Settings
Once gSender is installed, you can open the program and connect as usual.
Now we will import our saved gSender and firmware settings.
gSender Settings
- In Config, under gSender Preferences, press the Import button at the top right corner of the screen.
- Locate the gSender settings file (not the gSender firmware settings) and click ‘Open’
- You’ll get a warning. Click ‘Import Settings’ if you want to continue. Once you do, gSender will disconnect and you’ll need to reconnect the machine to resume operation but the settings should now be brought over.
Firmware Settings
- Go to Config tab, and click the Import button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Locate the gSender firmware settings file and click ‘Open’
- Press 'Apply Settings' then turn OFF then ON the controller to have the settings take effect.
